Uses For Artificial Intelligence I am so tired of people trying to fool us with photos. Today, I just saw a photo which had the caption in 1895 the only two cars in Ohio had an accident. The cars in the photo were clearly from the 1920s. Was this just bad research, or just tomfoolery? This was easy to spot, but I have to say some fake photos are really good. I was wondering if the streaming services could use Artificial Intelligence to weed out altered photos or miscaptioned ones? It seems we are making incredible progress with A.I. If posters want to highlight their prowess in creating videos and photos of false events, they could say their photo or video was created to demonstrate their ability and the A.I. would overlook banning it or labeling it has a fraud. This is just a thought. A.I. has many potential uses. There might be a use for it in tracking down people who have committed crimes. Take some of these illegal aliens who have committed crimes. There might be certain patterns which would help in tracking them down. The same might be true for drug dealers and other criminals who are U.S. citizens. From what I understand about A.I. it should be very good at detecting pattens and this alone should make it very useful, but we already have some of this with computer algorithms, and if I were to guess I would say the big difference is A.I. can learn. Recently China announced a major breakthrough in A.I. and supposedly they did this using chips from Nvidia which were not as powerful as the ones we are using for A.I. Call me a skeptic, but I just don’t believe it. Yes, they may have increased the power of A.I. for the types of chips they had, but I can’t help but believe the chips used are a major part of innovation. There A.I. project is named DeepSeek and their announcement has the world scurrying. What people have to realize is software is used to program A.I. and software can be improved. If the Chinese have been able to write a more efficient A.I. program to run the on a set of chips, it could make the result better. The chips used for A.I. increase their ability as newer versions come out. The Chinese used Nvidia H800 chips to train it’s A.I. Nvidia has come out with more powerful A.I. chips and the most powerful A.I. chip, as of the writing of this article, is said to be the Cerebras WSE-3. The more powerful the A.I. chip, the better the performance. One of the things A.I. should be used for is curing and detecting diseases. Remember those patterns? Diseases have their own patterns in many cases and we certainly can’t expect our doctors to know them for every disease. Today sometimes people get sick and medicine can’t find a cause. It usually doesn’t happen very much, but an intelligent program just might be able to solve the riddle. Also, the A.I. program could be used in other ways to protect our health. Think about this, there has been a lot of talk lately about bad things in our food. An A.I. program could be developed to not only detect this stuff, but also check certain combinations of ingredients which might be harmless on their own, but bad for us if combined. The government should be doing this right now. A.I. could be used in so many fields to improve things. I use it when I use the Opera Browser. It is built into the search and I find it very helpful. It can combine information from different sources at once. This is just the beginning for A.I. on the internet, I am sure we will see vast improvements over time and some things will be possible we never suspected. One thing I hope for is that A.I. will be used the correct way. I hate to see it used like the wasteful way some computers are used. Many who go to a doctor’s office probably know what I mean. There are endless forms to fill out at some offices every time we go there and even times when I have been asked to fill out forms in triplicate, with the excuse they go to different doctors, when all they would have to do is print them out. Is it possible every computer program in the future will have some component of A.I.? I believe at least the more complicated pieces of software will, and certainly those high-end games will. How will this effect our lives? For one thing will may be able to use it to discover other life. It might be able to detect certain things only an intelligent race could cause. Here is the scary part. I suppose we all have heard by now the idea computer chips could be put into our bodies and improve our functioning, like helping us to get data by just thinking about it. Now this idea might be to put A.I. chips into us and it would be like having another life form inside us. It might make us more like Venom. In case you don’t know what I mean, Venom was a movie about a man who had an alien inside his body. A.I. could result in improving the life of people in every country of the world if those in charge let it. It might be especially good in third world countries and might eventually be able to pull these people into our century. There could be better ways to make sure everyone has clean water for example and better ways to grow crops on unfriendly land. If used properly it could make life so much better for everyone. Of course, everything has its dark side and A.I. is no different. It could be turned around to find the deadliest disease so it could be weaponized. I mean wasn’t that what was going on at the Chinese lab where covid came from? It could also be used to develop planet killers in the future if we were at war with extraterrestrials. Maybe I am getting too far into the future. Eventually A.I. might become the greatest accomplishment of the human race if we can keep it under control. It’s bound to appear in our robots and maybe in many other devices, some ways it will be more limited and in others more advanced. The change is coming and we all have to get used to the idea, things will be different and those changes are coming fast and furious.
